DAILY ITINERARY – November 26th to December 5th, 2010
Friday, November 26th – to Europe
Overnight flight to Munich. Relax and enjoy your flight across the Atlantic, as your holiday begins.
Saturday, November 27th – Munich
Arrival in Munich. We will meet you at the airport. Afternoon free to visit the nearby village of Freising or take an easy train ride into downtown Munich, to explore one of Germany’s oldest Christmas markets situated on Marienplatz Square.

Sunday, November 28th –Innsbruck
Our morning city tour of Munich includes the Residenz, Maximilianstrasse and the old town hall. Our private coach then takes us along the foothills of the Alps. We’ll stop in Kufstein, a small town dominated by a magnificent fortress. There is time to stroll through the Innsbruck Christmas Market before this evenings reception and dinner.

Monday, November 29th – Innsbruck
Our local guide will introduce us to Innsbruck’s most important sights, including the well-known Goldenes Dachl. In the afternoon you may continue to explore this fascinating and lively city or join us on an excursion to the Swarovski Crystal factory and nearby Hall in Tirol, with its ornate Rathaus built in the mid 15th century.

Tuesday, November 30th – Bolzano
The Brenner Pass takes us over the mountain peaks into Italy. We’ll pass through Italy’s most beautiful mountains and the most impressive of the European Alps – the Dolomites. A stop in Ortisei, a ski resort famous for its woodcarvers. Look for their crafts in the market. The region was once part of Austria’s Tyrol and today there is an overlapping of the German and Latin cultures.

Wednesday, December 1st – Bolzano
Bolzano is the Italian Capital of Christmas. A morning walking tour introduces us to this beautiful little town of piazzas and museums. Walther Square showcases the main Christmas market filled with delightfully decorated huts selling local handmade crafts and seasonal treats. Work on the Gothic Cathedral began in 1280 and was finally completed in 1400. The archeological museum is the home of the Copper Age alpine iceman Otzi.

Thursday, December 2nd – Bolzano
We take an excursion to Merano, known as “the door to the land of the sun”. A local guide will take us to the Piazza del Duomo that showcases the Gothic cathedral, neoclassical and Art Nouveau style buildings. The Christmas Market specialty is handblown glass and the cobblestone streets are lined with fashionable boutiques.

Friday, December 3rd – Garmisch
Our route takes us back through the snowcapped beauty of the Alps. As we approach Garmisch we’ll have spectacular views of German’s highest peak, the Zugspitze. The 1,100 year old town has always been a winter and summer sport destination. Site of the 1936 Winter Olympics, it will bid to host the 2018 Olympics. After an introductory walk, you have ample time for the festive Christkindl Markt.

Saturday, December 4th – Munich
Our coach takes us straight to Munich city center for free time at the large Christmas Market, department stores, boutiques and museums. Take time to enjoy the Christmas carols sung on the Marienplatz Square with the Cathedral and the neo-gothic town hall serving as a backdrop. There is also a Christmas market at the Munich airport, a short walk from our hotel. Tonight we'll celebrate our farewell with a special dinner.

Sunday, December 5th – return to USA
Fly out of Munich airport. Farewell to Europe and jet back to North America, arriving home the same day. Meals (B)

Upon receipt of your deposit, an information packet will be forwarded with further confirmation of your reservation and details to help prepare for the tour. Full and final payment is due 80 days prior to departure.
EXTRA NIGHTS: Special rates are available at our hotel in Munich if you wish to arrive a day early or extend your return by a day or two. $220 per double room ($195 single) includes buffet breakfast, taxes and service charges. Additional nights are confirmed on a space-available basis.
TOUR COMBINATION: It is easy to combine two or all of the tours together. Those guests joining both the November 26th and December 4th trips, will receive a $125 per person price reduction. Those combining the December 4th and December 10th tours will receive a $200 per person price reduction.
